According to a recent US News and World Report survey, New Hampshire ranks sixth in the nation for it's pre-K thru 12 education system. This reputation for excellence derives from our commitment to full funding of our public education system and local control of school curricula. School voucher programs, expanded use of charter schools, and the proposed "open enrollment initiatives" siphon precious resources from local school budgets and reduce New Hampshire's competitive edge in drawing the best and brightest young professionals to our state. Instead of undermining public education to satisfy the demands of special interest groups, New Hampshire needs to re-affirm its commitment to our young people by providing them the best education available.
